FREE CHINESE FIVE ELEMENTS TOOL
Chinese Element Calculator
Find your Chinese element from your birth date, birth time, and birth city. This calculator goes beyond the simple zodiac-year element and shows your BaZi Day Master plus the full Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water balance in your chart.
For a quick answer, your Day Master is the most personal element in BaZi. Your strongest chart element shows what energy appears most often across all four pillars.
What is a Chinese element?
In Chinese astrology, the Five Elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. A simple Chinese zodiac element calculator usually looks only at the birth year. BaZi uses the year, month, day, and hour pillars, so it can show both your personal Day Master element and the element balance across the whole chart.
That is why two people born in the same Chinese zodiac year can feel very different. They may share a year animal, but their Day Master, month pillar, and hour pillar can create a different elemental pattern.
Wood
growth, direction, planning, and renewal
Fire
visibility, warmth, expression, and urgency
Earth
stability, trust, nourishment, and responsibility
Metal
precision, standards, boundaries, and refinement
Water
strategy, perception, memory, and adaptation
Chinese Element Calculator FAQ
What is my Chinese element?
The most personal answer is your BaZi Day Master element. Many simple calculators use only your birth year, but BaZi reads the birth day as the core self.
Is this the same as my Chinese zodiac animal?
No. Your Chinese zodiac animal comes from the year pillar. Your Chinese element can refer to your year element, your Day Master, or your full Five Elements balance.
Do I need my birth time?
Birth time is recommended because it affects the hour pillar. If you do not know it, the calculator uses noon so you can still get a useful estimate.
Why does birth city matter?
Birth city lets TryBazi correct for time zone and true solar time. This can affect the hour pillar and the Five Elements count.
